Twenty-ninth session, Illegal_Cinema
by
Outdoor session proposed by Leire San Martín, followed by a debate.
Zéro en conduite (Jean Vigo, 1933, 42 min.)
En rachâchant (Jean-Marie Straub, Danièle Huillet, 1982, 7 min.)
Mobile Men (Apichatpong Weerasethakul, 2008, 4:08 min.)
This session will attempt to consider the meaning that emerges from three audiovisual proposals screened together. Zéro en conduite, by Jean Vigo, which was banned in France for some years because of its antipatriotic message – students organise themselves against their institution -; En rachâchant, by Straub/Huillet, an adaptation of a short story by Marguerite Duras which shows the refusal of Ernest, a young boy, to be taught; and Mobile Men, by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, a short film which in a certain way displaces the eye of the director.
Leire San Martín works at the crossroads between the mediation of contemporary art and film programming. She will be coordinating Cine_ilegal sessions from July 2013.
