Screening proposed by Ainize Sarasola, followed by a debate.

Star Wars: First Episode – A New Hope (1977) and other videos.

Star Wars is one of the first films I can remember. My mum loves science fiction, so I saw it when I was really young. I’d seen the whole Star Wars trilogy more than once, but my mum always followed the same ritual: I’d wait, half asleep, for that night’s film to begin, doodling little things and acting like I didn’t know what was coming, while my mum pretended nothing was happening. Suddenly, the TV screen would go black:

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

“Guess what it is?” she’d ask. And I’d pretend to be afraid, just in case. “No…” What if it was something horrible. But I always remembered the music: it was Star Wars. “Yeeaaah!” I’d always fall asleep at least ten times during the film, but I was really excited anyway.

A while ago, I watched the first series again. I hadn’t seen it for years because I was afraid I might not like it so much anymore, but actually, it was as great as ever.

If I could choose, I’d live forever in Star Wars, because the whole thing is just incredible, and there are non-stop adventures and all these galaxies to explore. But this time, apart from the adventure and the costumes and all the incredible set designs, I noticed other aspects of it that I didn’t appreciate or understand as a child. Mainly, everything in it about THE FORCE. Thinking over it, I related THE FORCE to theories of what is known as ‘conscious thinking’ and other stuff. Especially what Bruce Lipton says here:
( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y0WoH5YdxE ) and with this scene from Return of the Jedi ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6FgidY1xdc ).

Ainize Sarasola. Art stuff and door-to-door cosmetics sales.
May the force be with you.
