WORKSHOP WITH TRIPAK

by

This workshop, led by Tripak, is one of the activities in Urak dakar, the 2022-2023 edition of Space is the Place / The Place is Space. This programme aims to analyse the role of art as a critical practice that provides us with tools for pausing, looking and situating ourselves in the world, for creating situations and imagining ways of living and producing space. The programme runs as a series of periodical encounters which may be workshops, presentations, reading sessions, walks, actions in different territories or artmaking.

Dates:
Saturday 12 November 2022, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
Sunday 13 November 2022, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Venue:

TRIPAK WORKSHOP
We will use performance and related practices as a basic principle of this workshop, encouraging live creation and working with our bodies, as well as material from our close environment and our own imaginations.

We’ll be focusing on process rather than any predefined aim, working with our capacity to listen and our expression in improvisational exercises, in which we will try to step out of our habitual context and create another, more fantastic space where we can surprise ourselves and also develop trust.

Anyone who feels interested, curious, or wants to try it out is welcome.

Tripak is a performing arts company whose members are Maite Mugerza, Marina Suárez, Natalia Suárez, Andrea Berbois and Mayi Martiarena. It was set up in 2013 during the Sala Baratza (Vitoria-Gasteiz) creative laboratory with an intent to create work of their own, based on their own experience and aesthetic vision. Tripak have made three works to date: Aitaren Larrua (2015), Urruna (2019) and Platea (2022), which have been performed in different spaces and festivals. Through various collaborations over the years their work has gained different perspectives.

Urak dakar is supported by the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Zinebi Festival.
