Session sixteen, The Book To Come"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">With this session, I propose a reading of <i>Her Majesty Sylvia M.<\/i>, a book made using random phrases from wall panels at the National Gallery in London and illustrated with versions of drawings by Sylvia Plath. Our reference here will be \u201cThe White Room\u201d from Marcel Broodthaers&#8217; <i>L&#8217;Angelus de Daumier.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The book title plays with the names Plath and Sylvia M., to whom the book is dedicated. As it is impossible to interact or communicate with M., the book emerged as a need to educate. It is a book as a statement, something officially said or written, an act where an opinion is expressed, a declaration, an official communiqu\u00e9, an account of the facts, a state of accounts, an instruction, an allegation. An affirmation as a statement, a statement as a book.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The session will continue with a practical exercise where we will work with the text of the book to come up with another, different text. Anyone attending the session is asked to bring drawing materials, pencils, felt tips, rubbers, glue, images, scissors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Gema Intxausti<\/b> (Gernika-Lumo, 1966) is an artist. She studied Fine Arts at the Universidad del Pa\u00eds Vasco, UPV-EHU, and Film and Video at the University College for the Creative Arts, Farnham. Recent exhibitions include <i>Macabea, la rutina diaria de la oficina, <\/i>Galer\u00eda CarrerasM\u00fagica, Bilbao; <i>Tratado de paz,<\/i> Museo San Telmo, Donostia-San Sebasti\u00e1n; <i>Arenzana, Imaz, Intxausti, Peral, Mont\u00f3n,<\/i> Tabakalera, Donostia-San Sebasti\u00e1n; <i>Wilder is the new black, <\/i>La Taller, Bilbao; <i>Suturak,<\/i> Museo San Telmo, Donostia-San Sebasti\u00e1n; <i>\u2026meanwhile &#8230; rapture&#8230;,<\/i> Gabinete Abstracto, sala rekalde, Bilbao. Inxausti has directed the workshop \u201cTaller de pr\u00e1ctica art\u00edstica desde la experiencia narrativa\u201d at Universidad del Pa\u00eds Vasco, UPV-EHU (2015) as well as sessions in workshops such as<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">\u201c<\/span><span class=\"s2\">Fundido en negro<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201d, <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Artium-Centro Museo Vasco de Arte Contempor\u00e1neo,<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">Vitoria-Gasteiz (2009) and <\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201c<\/span><span class=\"s2\">Lupa e Im\u00e1n<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201d<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, directed by I\u00f1aki Imaz, Arteleku, Donostia-San Sebasti\u00e1n (2005).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><i>The Book To Come<\/i> is a project developed for Corpus network for the practice of performance.
