Conversation with choreographer Xavier Le Roy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the 24th of February, <em>Retrospectiva<\/em><em>,<\/em> an exhibition by Xavier Le Roy, opened at the Fundaci\u00f3 T\u00e0pies, Barcelona. The idea of the retrospective works in the exhibition as a means of production rather than a way of ordering his trajectory as an artist. On the 25th of February, Xavier Le Roy\u2019s definition of \u201cForm\u201d could be heard as a part of Bulegoa z\/b\u2019s staging of <em>Un, dos, tres, cuatro paredes<\/em> (One, two, three, four walls). Both the <em>Retrospectiva<\/em> exhibition and the definition of \u201cForm\u201d examine the limits of and possibilities for crossover between two modes of production: the white cube space of galleries and museums, and the theatrical space which stages. This continuous questioning of the modes in which an event is produced will be guiding the conversation between Le Roy, Bulegoa z\/b, and the public.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Xavier Le Roy.<\/strong> Completed a PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Montpellier and has been working as a choreographer since 1991. From 1996 to 2003 he was resident artist at Podewil in Berlin. In 2010 he worked as resident artist at the MIT Program in Art and Culture (Cambridge). His solos Self-Unfinished (1998) and <em>Product of Circumstances<\/em> (1999) proposed new perspectives in current choreography. His latest works, such as the solo <em>Le Sacre du Printemps<\/em> (2007), the group piece <em>Low Pieces<\/em> (2011) and <em>Production<\/em> (2011), made with Marten Spangberg for exhibition spaces, create situations which explore the relationships between viewers, visitors and performers.
