In the Chinese tale I was telling in the previous fissure, number 2, the protagonist died from poisoning after drinking water from a well. He now appears resuscitated and dressed in white. In this new fissure I want to sing a song which says that, as a bird, I believed in that pleasant dream which I would like to believe in today as well. I have not sung it out of fear of someone hearing me. I prefer to fly off.<\/p>\n

In this piece, I work on a series of textual figures that are illustrations of violent tales or songs about birds. Within a story there is always another story and nothing can save us from a false story being told in place of a legend.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the wall serves me as a place for adhesion to this strange figure, who wanted to put her backside in a basin full of milk and didn\u2019t out of fear that someone would hear her. She prefers to fly off, swiftly, swiftly like the robin that is now flying in the dark woods.<\/p>\n

The titles of the actions are: Palomita , Exotika, Txeguingan, The hunter, Elm disease, Baso ilunetan, Leoiak eta Txoriak, Txori.<\/p>\n

Idoia Zabaleta<\/strong>
\nChoreographer. In the Biology Faculty (University of the Basque Country \u2013 UPV-EHU) she specialised in ecosystems and the dynamics of populations. Some of the ideas that recur in her work are related to the ecology of the act of communication and the processes of (re)presentation. Zabaleta studied New Dance and Improvisation in Barcelona, Florence, Amsterdam and New York. In 1990, she created Moar\u00e9 Danza<\/u><\/a>, based in Vitoria-Gasteiz. She collaborated as an interpreter with the Mal Pelo<\/u><\/a> company (Girona), directed by Mar\u00eda Mu\u00f1oz and Pep Ramis. Since the year 2000, she has created her own work, collaborating with artists from different disciplines, as well as theoreticians and writers. She is a member of ARTEA, where she collaborates with Isabel de Naver\u00e1n in developing the Autonomy and Complexity project. Together with Naver\u00e1n and Igor de Quadra she co-directs Dantza Kodeak, the Dance Course at the Leioa campus (UPV-EHU). She has collaborated in the publication of the books Zeru Urdina, 4 itinerarios y otras fotos<\/em> and Bicho<\/em>. It has been possible to see her work in festivals and meetings internationally. In 2008, together with Juan Gonz\u00e1lez, she set up and now directs AZALA, a space for artistic creation and residence in Lasierra (Alava).<\/p>\n

This piece has received a grant by the Department of Culture of the Basque Government<\/p>\n
