CLAUDIA PAGÈS: ESPIGADORAS / GLEANERS

by

Claudia Pagès presents the work begun during her residency at Bulegoa z/b in autumn 2018, titled Espigadoras / Gleaners. This project brings together a series of works belonging to her research on speech, the creolization of speech and forms of contemporary extraction and gleaning, setting up links between linguistic processes and models of socio-economic production.

The artist has worked with different materials such as straw and its contemporary derivations, and has gathered together a number of texts for a libretto and performative piece.

Pagès will be presenting the current stage of her work, and will open up Espigadoras / Gleaners by reading fragments and exploring her different work processes for the project.

The artist also chose to take time during her residency to work with Andrea Rodrigo. The Bilbao estuary and its margins were the basis for a collaboration which took the form of a sensory, corporal and written epistolary the two are working on.
